Via Alessio di Tocqueville 13 is a prime location itself.
It has a life; it has a scale. We believe that the design of this new building scenario should not suggest any ostentatious solution, but seek the most significant result, which links Corso Como District, contributing to the urbanity of this polarity of Milan, according to the renewal program that COIMA is implementing in the city. The first goal of Via Alessio di Tocqueville 13 is to consider the new building as a relevant part of the Corso Como District, increasing the permeability and bringing something back to the public domain, in terms both of open space, and of sky-line.
Our idea is to create a cluster strictly connected to the urban surrounding, designed as the combination of a “Vertical Tower” (5 levels) above a “Horizontal Tower” (8 levels) thus creating a distinctive step-like proile of a total of 13 levels, which distinguishes Tocqueville 13 from the other individual towers around. We feel that the very regular shape of the Tower with the expression of its regular geometry and its modulate grid, are absolutely right for the neighbourhood, in relation both to the surrounding buildings and to the “Milanese” identity that it
will assume.
The Terrace, located at level 9, works like an extensive Belvedere, unveiling surprising panoramic views to the surrounding urban context. The façades are designed to establish the new identity of the building from the outside with a strong connotation, but also with a harmonious accord to the adjacent buildings, increase the internal privacy, comfort, flexibility, functionality and energy saving.
